Water Insight BV provides the Geoportal, allowing easy access to water quality data derived from satellite images. You have reached the home of the Near Real-Time Algal Bloom Monitoring Services for the Dutch part of the North Sea based on images of the MERIS satellite. The data is kindly provided through the MARCOAST programme. The images have been processed using the HYDROPT analytical algorithm which is developed by the Institute of Environmental Studies. |
Click on the upper right section “Public info” to view the last 7 chlorophyll maps offered for free to the general public. Click on the other sections to login and view the Harmful Algal Bloom bulletins which include GEM-model results from Deltares and the complete product archive (including e.g. CHL, TSM, Kd, CDOM maps and their error estimates from 2006 onwards). A login can be obtained by RWS and Deltares employees after contacting marcoast@waterinsight.nl. |
